Biomarker Plus PET Can Detect Parkinson’s Decades Early
Signs of Parkinson’s disease can be detected 20 to 30 years before symptoms appear using a known biomarker, called F-AV-133, and positron emission tomography (PET) scans. This work opens the door to screening programs and preventative treatments long before irreversible damage is done.
